Our ACTIVITIES
garden full of cultural delights
The Garden Full of Cultural Delights attracts about 500 attendees and is located in St Leonards Gardens a beautiful park in the very diverse area of Central St Leonards where local primary schools have children speaking 20+ languages. We celebrate diversity through performance, diverse food, music and stalls. The objective is to increase community cohesion and to encourage cooperation between a wide variety of faith and ethnic groups in planning and delivering an event which is a delight for the whole community.
winter festival of faiths and cultures
The Festival aims to bring together diverse faith and community groups in Hastings and Rother to celebrate Winter Festivals associated with respective faiths and ethnicities and through this to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation resulting in greater community cohesion. There are stalls providing an opportunity for different cultures and faiths to make displays which increase mutual understanding. We share and celebrate the music, culture and food associated with different cultures, ethnicities and faiths through performance and a buffet meal. The event provides a wonderful opportunity for collaboration between different community and faith groups and creates productive relationships which improve our community and encourage good citizenship.
monthly forum meetings
Each month the Forum meets to hear presentations about different faiths and projects These can range from Muslim Christian Dialogues in a local mosque to conferences on Forgiveness, explorations of interfaith dialogue, experiences of art and culture and sharing of religious festivals.
